Check out our kickstarter campaign that launched today 🙂
The preseasoned burgers have been tasted and tweaked for 2 years now and we are finally ready to launch
Monty’s 100% Pure Piedmontese™ to markets everywhere.images

We chose kickstarter to help us with process because it’s more than a fundraising site. In 30 days we plan
to raise a little money (of course) but really we will be giving most of that away in value of prizes. The cool thing about kickstarter is that you can increase brand awareness

and grow anticipation while readying for a new product launch.
Check out Kickstarter.com to see what you can get while backing startups, inventions, existing businesses.
It’s a really exciting site, and stop by our project page while you’re there. AND, keep this article by Forbes close by because it’s named the top 10 crowdfunding sites.

Why It’s Important to REALLY Know Your Food

When you read “Free-range”, “Cage-free” or “Pasture-raised” on your egg carton, you probably picture this chicken, hanging out in the sun…The truth is that the eggs you buy probably come from these guys… Thanks to a friend we came across this excellent article written by Nick “The Nutrition Nerd” Pineault, thanks Joe!

Thanks to a friend we came across this excellent article written by Nick “The Nutrition Nerd” Pineault,
thanks Joe!

Nick writes,
Most people get scammed when shopping for the high-end, unprocessed, nutrient-dense foods… Even if the USDA has changed regulations about the use of the marketing term “grass-fed” in 2007 to make sure it really means the cattle are 100% grass-fed for their entire life… turns out that the whole regulatory program is applied on a voluntary basis. Believe it or not, this is the reality of most of the pricey foods you are buying. In the United States,  Ranchers and Distributors can get away with using marketing and branding catch phrases to establish claims and promote false expectations. The regulations are not strict and the standards are often vague– thus the consumer is tricked!!!

Know your farmer, know the people behind the product you buy, and look for smaller producers to ensure higher quality and standards. It is not easy, nor is it cheap, to do things the right way so if you are willing to pay a premium people– make sure you’re getting what you want!

Jerry Feeds Treats to Loxie — if that’s not humane, what is?
http://midmichigan.secondwavemedia.com/features/piedmontese82013.aspx

What does it mean to be humane?

100% Pure Piedmontese™ raised according to Humane Practices
On the Monty’s Farm we make sure that our animals receive the best care in order to ensure the best quality
product. It is our belief that each animal deserves a kindness and dignity from birth and throughout its
lifecycle. A better life, sustainable practices, and free range farming, all equate to better beef for you
and your family.

“a humanely raised animal has been allowed to engage in natural behaviors, has had sufficient space,
shelter and gentle handling to limit stress, and eats a healthful diet without added antibiotics or
hormones.”
